From October 10th to 12th, 2022, the 2022 National Industry Occupational Skills Competition - the 8th National Ceramic Occupational Skills Competition Guangxi Preliminary Selection Competition, hosted by the Guangxi Ceramic Industry Association and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Finance, Trade, Light Industry, Textile, Tobacco and Alcohol Trade Union, and undertaken by the Beiliu Municipal People's Government and the Yulin Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, was held in the Ceramics Town. The opening ceremony was held on the morning of October 10th in front of the clock tower square in Ceramics Town. Chen Cheng, President of the Guangxi Ceramic Industry Association and Chairman and President of Guangxi Sanhuan Enterprise Group; Lü Zhijun, Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Finance, Trade, Light Industry, Textile, Tobacco and Alcohol Trade Union; Yan Dongfang, Deputy Director of the Daily Consumer Goods Industry Department of the Guangxi Industry and Information Technology Department; Yang Hong, Deputy Director of the Beiliu Municipal People's Congress and Chairman of the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions; Shuai Minfeng, specially appointed professor of Guangxi Vocational and Technical College; Liu Yongfu, Dean of the Art Design College and Professor of Guangxi Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical College; Liang Jiandong, Level 4 Research Fellow of the Yulin Municipal Federation of Trade Unions; Li Yuquan, Level 4 Research Fellow of the Beiliu Municipal People's Government; Li Chengshi, professor of Nanning University and Chinese Arts and Crafts Master; Zhang Shengjin, associate professor of Guilin University of Electronic Technology; Chen Lin, executive vice president of the Guangxi Ceramic Industry Association and president of the Beiliu Municipal Ceramic Industry Association; and Zhu Hongqiang, Party secretary and director of the Beiliu Municipal Bureau of Economy, Trade and Science and Technology attended the opening ceremony. About 200 people, including heads of delegations from Guangxi and Guizhou, contestants, and representatives of enterprise employees, participated in the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Li Fuzhang, Party secretary and vice chairman of the Yulin Municipal Federation of Trade Unions.
At the opening ceremony, Yang Hong, deputy director of the Beiliu Municipal People's Congress and chairman of the municipal Federation of Trade Unions, delivered a speech. She stated that carrying out various occupational skills competitions provides a large number of high-quality talents to support the development of the ceramic industry. This is not only a requirement of the Party committee and the government, but also the urgent need of the vast number of employees in the ceramic industry, and it is also the goal of the competition organizers. The high-quality development strategy has put forward new and higher requirements for improving the overall skill level of the ceramic workforce. She believes that with the concerted efforts of the ceramic industry in various places, through this platform of ceramic occupational skills competitions, the development of ceramic occupational skills will surely usher in a new historical opportunity, and the ceramic industry will usher in new brilliance!
Chen Cheng, president of the Guangxi Ceramic Industry Association and chairman and president of Guangxi Sanhuan Enterprise Group, gave a speech. He believes that holding this selection competition will further stimulate the enthusiasm of the vast number of employees in the ceramic industry to learn technology, practice skills, compete in skills, and create first-class work, and further improve their occupational skills. Lü Zhijun, chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Finance, Trade, Light Industry, Textile, Tobacco and Alcohol Trade Union, gave a speech. The Guangxi preliminary selection competition of the National Ceramic Occupational Skills Competition has been held here for eight consecutive years, achieving good results and experience. He believes that with the concerted efforts of the various organizing units, undertaking units, and co-organizing units, and with the joint efforts of all contestants and judges, they will surely be able to compete with high standards, style, and characteristics, fully demonstrating the superb skills and fighting spirit of the vast number of employees in the ceramic industry, and playing an important role in deepening the reform of the industrial worker team building and promoting the high-quality development of the region.
Then, Li Chengshi, a professor at Nanning University and a Chinese Arts and Crafts Master, representing the judges, and Luo Shanshan, representing the contestants, took the oath.
Following this, Lü Zhijun, chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Finance, Trade, Light Industry, Textile, and Tobacco and Alcohol Trade Union, announced the opening of the selection competition.
After the opening ceremony, all contestants and judges went to the Ceramics College to conduct practical examinations and theoretical examinations.
This selection competition set up two categories: ceramic decorators and ceramic product designers. The competition was divided into two parts: practical examination (70%) and theoretical examination (30%). Based on the total score of the practical operation and theoretical examination, and the number of finalists allocated by the China Ceramic Association, the contestants recommended to participate in the national finals were comprehensively evaluated.
