On April 18, the three-day 7th China (Beiliu) International Ceramics Expo opened at the Beiliu International Ceramics Trade City. 40 projects were signed at the opening ceremony, with a total contract value of 5.795 billion yuan. This includes 3.555 billion yuan in investment projects and 2.24 billion yuan in trade projects.
This expo, themed "Building a platform for exchange and cooperation, sharing business opportunities in the ceramics industry," included ten sections: opening ceremony, completion ceremony of Phase I and commencement ceremony of Phase II of the Sanhuan Ceramics Town project, a public auction for poverty alleviation through ceramics, a ceramics industry development forum, ceramics awards, pottery exhibitions, appraisal experts visiting Beiliu, and exhibitions and sales of tourism, food, luxury cars, home furnishings, and other high-quality and characteristic products. It aims to build an international platform for the ceramics industry that integrates brand display, trade talks, cultural exchange, results release, and investment attraction, providing ample space for the transformation and upgrading of the ceramics industry, market expansion, increased business opportunities, and prosperous development.
It is reported that Beiliu has a long history of ceramic production and a profound ceramic culture, and is known as the "Hometown of Ceramics." It has made unique contributions to the brilliance and splendor of Lingnan ceramic culture. In recent years, Beiliu City has always regarded the ceramic industry as a key pillar industry for development, actively promoting the transformation and upgrading of the ceramic industry, and continuously improving the market competitiveness of the ceramic industry.
Currently, the Beiliu ceramic industry has gradually formed a ceramic industry cluster driven by innovation, with high-end technical ceramics as the core, high-end daily-use ceramics as the main product, and other ceramic varieties such as building ceramics as supplementary products, along with related supporting industries. More than 60 ceramic production enterprises have been developed, employing more than 60,000 people, and a number of high-level, large-scale, and strong ceramic enterprises such as Sanhuan, Zhongli, Laotian, and Xin Gaosheng have emerged. In 2016, the total output value of the city's ceramic industry reached 12.3 billion yuan, and the output and export volume of daily-use ceramics accounted for more than 80% and 90% of Guangxi, respectively.
