Vice director of Canton fair and vice minister of commerce yi xiaozhun attended a symposium of exhibitors held by the ministry of commerce at the Canton fair on the morning of June 26.

The symposium invited representatives of 15 enterprises participating in the second phase of the Canton fair to attend the conference, covering stainless steel products, glass products, ceramic products, furniture, toys, etc. The enterprise representatives reported the current exhibition situation, the current opportunities and difficulties, and put forward some Suggestions.

In summing up the characteristics of the Canton fair this year, delegates generally reported that the number of buyers at the fair has rebounded somewhat compared with the previous two sessions. Although some European and American buyers were unable to attend the meeting as planned because of the volcanic eruption in Iceland, the number of buyers from emerging markets increased significantly. Secondly, the transaction price of products increased slightly due to the rising prices of raw materials and labor costs. However, as the rising prices were not enough to make up for the rising costs, the profit space of enterprises was squeezed and the operating pressure increased. Business representatives also reported that buyers in the second phase of the order speed accelerated, mainly because after the financial crisis, the European and American market inventory is basically finished, buyers replenishment phenomenon increased. Business representatives believe that the growth of foreign trade resumed in the first quarter and hope to maintain a relatively stable foreign trade environment.

Yi xiaozhun, vice minister of foreign trade, said that China's foreign trade policy will remain basically stable this year, and the RMB exchange rate that people are concerned about will also remain basically stable. He said that through the general situation of the first two sessions of the Canton fair, we can be sure that the current popular, business confidence has increased, the international market is gradually recovering. However, we must be soberly aware that this year's foreign trade situation is still uncertain and complex, and we must not be blindly optimistic. Enterprises and local commercial authorities should be well prepared to cope with all kinds of difficulties and challenges, strengthen the pertinence of their work and improve the effectiveness of the response.

Yi said that through the recent days of research on the exhibitors and products can be found that enterprises in strengthening innovation, independent research and development, improve product quality and added value of many efforts, has also made some achievements, which is a welcome phenomenon.
